For this innovative model the designers needed customization. BOSCH Hinges therefore went to work with a special custom hinge.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<h2>Custom hinges for the Brekr: &#8216;Good Industrial Design&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Last week one of our customers won the public award at the Dutch Design Week which took place from 19-27 October. The &#8216;Brekr&#8217;, an electric moped designed in the Achterhoek, received the award for &#8216;Good Industrial Design&#8217; in Eindhoven, after it had already been nominated for the &#8216;Special Award for Originality&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">For such an innovative design, the Brekr naturally needs customized hinges. That&#8217;s why BOSCH Hinges is working on a special hinge to raise the saddle. The hinge needs a blockage so that it can open far enough to get to the batteries, but not so far that it will hit something else.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The response so far has been great, according to Niels Willems, who designed de Brekr together with Jasper Hagedoorn, designer Ivo Roos and engineer Daniel ter Braak. &#8220;<span class=\"s1\">People could subscribe to a waiting list as of last month, but we are already over a hundred. The response rate is high.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Parts from all over the world, but custom hinge from around the corner<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Brekr is composed of parts that are made all over the world. So for the real customization they keep it closer to home, with the choice for BOSCH Hinges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The production of the electric moped will start in January 2020. The model still needs to be approved by the RDW.<\/p>\n<p>Want to read more?
